DE&I Governance
A strong governance system systematically monitors our progress towards the goals of Diversity and Inclusion, enabling us to identify concrete tools and actions to help achieve them.
Our Governance Model
Our commitment to becoming an ever more GAP FREE company is also reflected in the Governance Model we’ve introduced, in which the Executive Leadership Team acts as a catalyst for change in the framework of a concrete commitment to D&I. In an ongoing two-way process of proposals and feedback, the model aims to rise to the challenges encountered by our People in corporate life, as identified by our ERGs (Employee Resource Groups).
To activate our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategy, we have introduced an inclusive Governance model organised on two levels, one global and one local. On one hand, our Global DE&I Council – made up of the leadership team and representatives of our ERGs – drives change and sets a common strategic direction across the entire Group. On the other, the setting up of Local DE&I Councils responds to local needs and priorities. The Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) ensure that our People’s concerns are represented and listened to.
D&I Policy
To highlight our commitment to creating a fair, inclusive and diverse working environment that values everyone’s contribution, we’ve adopted a D&I Policy that everyone in the Group is required to follow.
The Policy focuses on 4 macro-areas for action:
Daily Work: Everyone can contribute to change with everyday actions
People: We value everyone’s needs and characteristics because we recognise their fundamental importance
Business: We expect our partners to align with our values and way of working
Language: We are committed to promoting the use of inclusive language both internally as well as in relations with outside partners
Certifications
In 2023, we celebrated the achievement of first level EDGE certification (EDGE Assess - Level 1 of 3) for Gender Parity in Italy. It’s reserved for companies that a standard assessment methodology has shown have a demonstrable commitment to zero gender gaps in the workplace. This milestone marks the achievement of the first goal in our Gap Free Manifesto. Our efforts therefore continue with the aim of achieving all three EDGE certification levels, also in the other countries where we operate.
